Snoop gets Russian crowds going with rap classics

Rap star Snoop Dogg has visited Russia for the first time, performing two shows in St Petersburg and Moscow, and both shows were sold-out long before he even arrived. In the early 90s the focus of hip-hop fans shifted from the culture's mecca, New York City, to Los Angeles. Deathrow Records, a label formed by super-producer Dr Dre along with former professional American footballer Suge Night, dominated the airwaves with their new brand of G-funk through the mid 90s.
